You Already Use Genderqueer Pronouns

Most of us at some point or another in our lives, have seen a lost article on the ground that someone lost. For example, you might think, “Oh no! Someone lost their shoe.” Or, “Oh no! Someone lost their glasses, I wonder how they’re going to see.”

Someone could potentially lose anything, right? They could misplace anything and lose it forever. Hopefully that person will find it, and unfortuntaely, a lot of the times they don’t. And most of the time, we don’t know who that person is at all.

So my question is, how come when you don’t eve know the person and you’ve only seen the object that they’ve lost, you’re able to use they/them pronouns. But when you actually meet a person who uses they/them pronouns, you say you’re unable to, and it’s too hard. You really don’t have an excuse to say they/them pronouns are too difficult, because you always already used them.
