One of the many generational scars of colonialism is displacement. In Palestine, Tigray, Sudan, the DRC, of the Rohingya people, Uyghur people, the list is endless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The UN states that at least 1 in every 57 people on this planet is displaced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This number does not factor all of the generations \u201cdisplaced\u201d over decades and centuries through enslavement, war, genocide, and colonization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From all across Africa, the Philippines, Korea, the Islands of Oceania, Turtle Island. Again, the list is endless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am technically a couple of generations after the date of the division of Korea, but I still feel eternally generationally displaced. That divide and displacement impact me every single moment of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Displacement is life altering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is generation altering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Colonialism REQUIRES displacement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And often, we cannot \u201cgo back\u201d to what once was because time, families and memories were stolen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, we can all fight for LandBack with Indigenous stewardship because that means that everyone gets to be a guest on a planet that is owned by no one, but livable by everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Liberation is life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When we recognize that land is our relative and family, it changes everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just as we understand that being in a circle of people connects us through our breath, energy, and even moods, expand your mind to understand also that every being on this planet is in one earth-sized circle. We are all connected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
