{"id":927,"date":"2024-12-11T02:08:47","date_gmt":"2024-12-11T02:08:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ykhong.com\/writes\/?p=927"},"modified":"2025-01-25T21:54:11","modified_gmt":"2025-01-25T21:54:11","slug":"the-insurrection-of-yoon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ykhong.com\/writes\/the-insurrection-of-yoon\/","title":{"rendered":"The Insurrection Of Yoon"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"\">Members of the Korean Special Warfare unit, military, ministry, and police force have been <strong>undergoing questioning<\/strong> about Yoon\u2019s martial law declaration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">More troubling details are emerging on the declaration and the leading events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The Special Warfare commander stated that Yoon directed him to <strong>drag out <\/strong>National Assembly members from the building to prevent them from voting to stop martial law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Directives were to <strong>seize six locations<\/strong> including the National Assembly, National Election Commission, Democratic Party of Korea HQ, and public polling locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">While ALL of it is alarming, it is the <strong>attempt to suppress public votes and voices<\/strong> that is particularly disturbing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Counterintelligence was ordered to <strong>copy or remove the servers<\/strong> containing voter registration lists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Voter and public opinion censorship, attempts to control the media, and using the military and special forces to violently suppress the democratic process <strong>all happened before<\/strong>. It is all too <strong>fresh in the minds of Koreans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">It was only 44 years ago where such attempts at repression were met with the people\u2019s <strong>Gwangju Uprising<\/strong> and its subsequent U.S.-approved ROK authoritarian retaliation that killed tens of thousands of Korean citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">I see all of these signs of <strong>attacks on people\u2019s voices<\/strong> happening in different forms in \u201cdemocracies\u201d around the world. The shredding of DEI, banning of books, jingoism, anti-immigrantism, rise of surveillance, conglomerate-owned media, voter suppression, corporate control of politics, and U.S. militarism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Yoon must go<\/strong>. Listen to people in Korea rising up.
