{"id":1228,"date":"2025-02-23T01:54:23","date_gmt":"2025-02-23T01:54:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ykhong.com\/writes\/?p=1228"},"modified":"2025-02-23T11:36:08","modified_gmt":"2025-02-23T11:36:08","slug":"the-re-emergence-of-eugenics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ykhong.com\/writes\/the-re-emergence-of-eugenics\/","title":{"rendered":"The Re-emergence of Eugenics"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As someone who constantly travels within and outside the U.S. and talks for a living with people about oppression and liberation, let me say that the rest of the world witnessing trans people in the U.S. getting <strong>passports taken away<\/strong>, having gender care <strong>disallowed and withheld<\/strong>, and having <strong>gender force modified<\/strong>, is beyond shocking because <strong>everyone else knows where this is headed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fascism is too weak of a word<\/strong> for the terror that is currently being carried out. I am not being alarmist, but this is, as a fact, deeply <strong>alarming<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is happening is the re-emergence of eugenics<\/strong>. Along with this comes forced conformity, homogeneity, compulsory heterosexuality, bi-gender hegemony. This is accompanied by the policing and surveillance of everything from clothing, makeup, voice, gait, and even who you can be with and when. What digs into this is the brutal and lethal weaponization of ableism and racism, which has always been used by eugenics to justify itself. From history, we know that this escalates into SA, genital mutilation, forced sterilization, forced pregnancy, and death.<strong> This is how dire this moment is<\/strong> that we are in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With zero exaggeration, we must do everything in our power to <strong>stop this now<\/strong>. Everything we love is not just changing, it is being destroyed. We must organize to <strong>STOP THIS NOW<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two of the most impactful and powerful resources you have available to you are <strong>your attention and endurance<\/strong>. Allocate them wisely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Understand there are <strong>immediate, mid, and long-term goals<\/strong>. Do not conflate every action into one, and also <strong>remain focused<\/strong> on the bigger picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gather and be gathered<\/strong> in community.
