{"id":1086,"date":"2025-01-15T00:35:12","date_gmt":"2025-01-15T00:35:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ykhong.com\/writes\/?p=1086"},"modified":"2025-02-07T00:36:50","modified_gmt":"2025-02-07T00:36:50","slug":"ceasefire-and-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ykhong.com\/writes\/ceasefire-and-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Ceasefire And"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As a Korean from a country still under ceasefire,<strong> I want more for Palestinians<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A ceasefire is not liberation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, I am weeping at the celebrations, the tears, the grief, the reunions, the embraces, and the joy. It is incredible to witness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And also, I am from a country that has been in a ceasefire for 70 years. We were promised a treaty would follow, but it never happened. So Korea, technically, is still at war, suspended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the main reasons Korea is divided and remains so is <strong>because<\/strong> of the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every country that originally agreed to the ceasefire 70 years ago has since declared the willingness to move forward to a treaty, <strong>except<\/strong> for the U.S. Empire. <strong>The U.S. Empire does not want the war in Korea to end<\/strong>. Using war as an excuse, the U.S. Empire spends billions in military infrastructure and political puppeteering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moving on from a ceasefire means <strong>demilitarization<\/strong> and <strong>self-determination<\/strong> for the people. These are two things that negate Empire\u2019s very existence. So of course, Empire has not let go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, <strong>I want more for Palestinians<\/strong>. A ceasefire is necessary, yes, but so is an end to the siege, an end to the occupation, an end to settler colonialism. It. means LandBack until all of Palestine is free. Let\u2019s go.
