I grew up bowing with my forehead to the ground to pay respects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I appreciate these rituals and rites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They remind me constantly that I am in <strong>integral part of a vast fabric<\/strong> that has <strong>survived the unthinkable<\/strong> at the hands of oppressors and Empire. They remind me to be humble and stay connected, <strong>to try to be a great ancestor<\/strong> and to give and receive wisdom openly far beyond the corporeal life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I witness and experience the oppression being carried out overtly, atrociously, and through the global oligarchy, then I think about how <strong>diligent, fierce, consistent, and connected<\/strong> <strong>our ancestors <\/strong>were to even get us here to be alive today. <strong>Can you imagine?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We are alive <\/strong>today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I think about the history <strong>within the context <\/strong>of what we are experiencing in the world today, when I think about how <strong>even in our brief lifetimes<\/strong> we have witnessed so much, I recognize <strong>how remarkable it is that we are here today<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So our fight, despite it feeling incredibly daunting, is one we can absolutely hold. <strong>We have history and our ancestors with us<\/strong>. We are movements upon movements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right now, we have the opportunity to <strong>create the future<\/strong> for all of us. What a gift. <strong>We get to nourish our world together<\/strong>. The present is challenging to <strong>ensure the future can change<\/strong>. We are changing directions, we are trying new things, we are <strong>radically shifting<\/strong>. <strong>It is breathtaking, <\/strong>and we get to be here right now together.
