It was absolutely intentional that the first Pride was a Black and brown trans and gender non conforming abolitionist riot.

Whiteness is not simply the lightness of someone’s skin, but a layered economic, social, political system.

Want to obliterate that system? Honor the original legacy of the first pride. Build, support Black and brown trans and gender nonconforming-led movements.

Pride isn’t just about a celebration.
It’s a call to action for liberation.
