There were 2 million of us rallying around Yoon’s impeachment today in front of the National Assembly, and even more around the rest of the country.
The National Assembly, because of the might and will of the Korean masses, voted to impeach Yoon. Yoon is immediately suspended and Prime Minister Han Duk Soo takes over immediately in the interim.
Now the Constitutional Court will approve or deny the impeachment within 180 days. If approved, we vote for another president within 60 days.
No matter who is newly voted in, the work continues. This past week the U.S. and puppet ROK politicians have been using rhetoric that closely mirrors the U.S. manufactured narratives after the War on Korea to justify the division of Korea while pitting Koreans against each other. It is haunting.
It is clear that U.S. imperialists are moving pieces into place to ramp up imperialist militarism.
Resist the U.S. imperialist machine and deny Empire’s propaganda. They will continue to distract and divide.
Keep attention on Korean labor and worker movements, and organizers on the ground. Keep attention on people’s movements around the world. We are each other’s fights for liberation. 🌊🌊🌊
