The unfettered access that Musk, through Trump, has positioned to access in the Treasury with his 6 engineers draws concern for a multitude of reasons, one of which is full access to our digital transaction data.
In this case, they are not hackers seeking a ransom, nor spammers scamming for funds. These are tech specialists who now have full access to our information, and are doing it for infinite power.
There are no ransoms or funds. They are seeking power, which means there is no end. There is no ransom or password they are seeking that will satiate them.
If you haven’t done so already, call all three credit bureaus (TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian to freeze your credit at all of them. It’s free. This is different from a credit lock, for which they often charge. A credit freeze prevents unauthorized inquiries onto your credit, which can, for instance, help to prevent accounts being open in your name. You can unfreeze temporarily at any time if you do need to do a credit check.
If you suspect that your identity has been stolen, you can report it to the FTC, which will hopefully continue to function.
Add alerts to and monitor your cards and accounts, and look out for unknown charges, cards, expenses, bills, and accounts. I recommend you do this for your individual accounts and any family and business accounts you may hold.
Banks, health, insurance, loan, benefits, and tax agencies need to be extra vigilant when accounts are being opened, closed, changed, or charged. This is not simply about a patient or consumer having their information taken from them, it’s about you as companies protecting society from the full acquisition and tyranny.
