The U.S. Will Always Be Limited

It makes complete sense to me why a country that has different cultural norms, societal values, thought processes, and political structure would blow the US out of the water when it comes to AI models.

They’re better precisely because they are not the United States.

US capitalist thought is inherently limiting because all it’s trying to do is compete to be the best, to be better than everyone else. And when its whole existence and motivation are based on competition and comparison with other entities, the US can’t even grasp the infinite possibilities because it can’t see above and beyond. It can’t even comprehend everything out there because it is bound to the supply and demand curve.

Most other places are developing technology to make life better or to protect themselves against the United States. So other cultures that don’t hold US values have so many more possibilities when it comes to developing technology creatively.

The US will always be trapped by the borders it created around itself for itself.

It will never have the capacity to be limitless, like interdependent communities and cultures.

The US will never be able to decenter itself.

So good luck to everyone else that isn’t trying to win anything but is trying to actually make life better.
