The Shade of Loss

I never imagined I would see the shade of loss every day all day.

Did you know the shade of a human that has lost their life is the same shade of the rubble that has been destroyed around them? Did you know?

It is the shade of destruction, of genocide. of death.

I am angry that we are 3 months and 75 years past the day this could have all stopped. Empire could have stopped at any point. But it will not because of capitalism and imperialism. And because of ego.

I think about the forever-lost experiences, knowledge, and love.

With the tens of thousands of lives taken, the world has lost forever the writer, poet, the artist, the special cooked meal, the smile, the laughter, the discovery, the hug, the teacher, the singer, the creators are lost.

We’ve lost hundreds of thousands of years of collective life. And in that loss not only will they not experience the rest of their lives, but we have lost the privilege of knowing what those lives could have been.

It is our loss. And I’m mourning that loss. And I’m angry. Angry at what’s happening in Palestine and also around the world. The imperial core cannot survive. We cannot allow it.

Oppression is collective death.
Liberation is collective life.

Liberation is our only way forward.
