For those of you that have been following me around opting out and consent of facial recognition and biometrics at airports, borders, checkpoints, and venues, you already know that it usually gets easier once you have done it a few times. I also get so many of you that let me know, even watching all of my opt-out videos were helpful for you to opt out yourself. And then I hear from so many of you after that that tell me how empowering it is when you manage to opt out.
Whether it is a video of how to respond when encountering ICE, or one of the many videos of me opting out of facial recognition at the airport, or a reading card to help you answer when police are at your door, read, watch, study, and absorb. Watch videos, read the scripts, read the questions they’ll ask and responses you can give. Practice. Role play with your friend, in the mirror, and out loud. Get your friends to practice together when you gather. Practice over the phone. In person. Practice. Repeat. Protect.
Practice with each other. Practice for each other.
Your practice gets to your protection.
