Oppressors have created a world where they live in constant fear. They created this world themselves.
Oppressors are so fearful of diversity that they are fearful of freedom. When something or someone is different, their first move is to overpower, make the same, and to assimilate. Conquer, colonize, control, and kill.
At the same time, they belligerently promote what they call “independence” and “individualism” above all else, which turns out to be individuals acting alone against each other, in competition.
This is different from community and communal-based cultures that uphold interdependence, which is people acting together to work with each other.
For the oppressor, this means that they will always be alone and disjointed. Oppressors can never be holistic, because their existence is based in fragmentation. The one, the single, the individual.
This also means that oppressors can only ever be mediocre in artistic endeavors and inventions, since being an oppressor kills creativity. The colonized world misses out on more brilliant science, math, culture, inventions, and life, because of limitations imposed by the oppressors’ fear.
Oppressors are afraid.
Afraid of Indigeneity, so they steal land and commit genocide. Afraid of Black and brown people, so they concocted whiteness and anti-Blackness.
Because of the oppressors’ limitation in understanding the many ways to learn and teach, they decided that anyone who cannot conform will be considered less “intelligent,” less “well,” and less “healthy.”
There is enough for everyone to eat and have a place to live, but oppressors really said no to sharing.
Because they could not withstand the imagination of the feminine, they created the patriarchy.
Instead of everyone being able to move around freely, they built borders, walls, and lines.
Because of their lack of breadth in thought, instead of people wearing what they want and feeling how they feel in their bodies, they said, there are only men and women, and the men wear pants while women wear dresses. They really decided on this.
Instead of building a world that everyone can navigate, they said, no, believe in eugenics and build an obstacle course for people that is treacherous to their very existence.
Because oppressors are afraid, they built the world based on that fear. They ensured that generations would be afraid.
Now, they will always be afraid. So they build up militaries, surveillance, prisons, police, and borders.
They constructed their entire world this way because they are so afraid. They made a world where they live in constant fear. Oppressors are so afraid, that not only are they afraid of freedom, but they are fearful of our freedom. We can take it back.
After centuries of existing and building in fear, of constructing their world from trembling and being afraid, they now fear everything, even and especially us.
While they built their world against freedom, we built ours fighting for liberation.
For us, the People, we have nothing but our liberation ahead.
“It is our duty to fight for our freedom.
It is our duty to win.
We must love each other and support each other.
We have nothing to lose but our chains.”
