The North Carolina senate has voted to ban people from wearing health masks such as surgical, KN95, KF94, N95 masks. That bill is now moving to the House.
Anti-masking laws have existed in the United States empire for decades. But these have existed mainly to prevent items like Klan masks.
However, with this new bill, they’re trying to make it illegal for one to wear a health mask, to mask for your health or the health of others around you.
It is trying to make illegal, the concept of Interdependence and caring for other people and caring for community.
It is instead trying to push forward the very age-old idea that is still being propagated, of individualism, which is destructive and fatal. Not only are they trying to make health masking illegal, they are trying to criminalize it as well. They are trying to criminalize interdependence.
Any entity that is trying to prevent you from wearing a health mask, does not care about you or your life. A business trying to keep you from wearing your mask should not be supported.
Colonial capitalist individualism is death. Interdependence and community care are precisely what is our path to liberation. We only get to liberation when we care about each other. All of us.
