We live in a world where white people really think they’re better than People of the Global Majority. Men think they’re better than women. Cis people think they’re better than trans folks.

Not only do they think this, they believe it to be objectively true.

They’ve constructed the whole world around that lie, centering themselves.

It is so ridiculous and outrageous of a lie. Yet, as we already know, even the most ridiculous lie can do the most harm.

We have to remind ourselves, every word we use, conversation we have, tidbit we learn, and media we take in, that we cannot internalize those lies.

And for those for whom the world of lies is built, do everything in your power, small & large, to stop and dispel the lies.

I absolutely believe we can change the world where one day people understand that abled people are not superior. Cis people, whites, or men, none are and none consider themselves to be better. Because the truth is, they just aren’t.

Truth surfaces. Always.
