In Gun Violence, the Gun is Never the Only Weapon

In the mass shootings and gun violence we experience in the US so often, more shootings than days, it is never that the gun is the only weapon.

It is also racist governments actively enabling gun violence.

It is institutions not taking responsibility even with clear indicator alarms of racism.

It is politicians openly endorsing racism.

It is the upholding of white dominance at all levels of culture and society.

Racism and systemic oppression are the weapon, too.

Racism in all of its forms is always fatal. From the banning of books, the resurfacing of Jim Crow laws, to the eradication of trans people’s self-determination, the control of women’s bodies, Sinophobic and anti-immigrant policies, and more.

All of these are connected and will always lead to the demise of our people.

We must root out racist white dominance.

Everywhere. Always. Root it out.
