Gun control has been so muddled and stymied because white people in power always choose white supremacy and capitalism.

Historically, white people in power have wanted to arm themselves and not anyone else. You see this play out historically in the way laws were created to keep enslaved Black folks from owning weapons, for example.

And just like the prison industry, corporations and politicians profit from the weapons industry.
