A wild example of how this administration, the right, and eugenics are related, is the Enhanced Games. A version of the Olympics, but where the athletes use performance enhancements. How is all of this linked to this administration and the right? It is because of the insidious way it is being weaponized. Check out this clip:
That whole clip is bananas. The Enhanced Games are funded by the wealthy and VC firms, scheduled for some time in the latter part of this year.
What, then, is the problem with performance enhancement? It is not necessarily that performance enhancers are inherently bad, it is the surrounding politics that are absolutely deleterious.
Technically, performance enhancements could include anything from sleep, vitamins, electrolytes, oxygen therapy, or even using weights to train. Those are enhancers of one’s performance, after all. But what these investors are talking about are substances such as steroids, which also include steroid hormones.
Steroids are in fact used commonly, even outside sport contexts. They’re often used for pain management by all types of people. So it is not the performance enhancements themselves, it is the way that they have been weaponized.
For decades because of anti-Blackness, ableism, misogynoir, and transphobia, Black people, disabled people, trans people, and particularly women of the Global Majority have been banned, disqualified, or had their careers taken from them because of accusations of steroid use or performance enhancements. All of those oppressions, anti-Blackness, ableism, and transphobia, will not suddenly vanish because of the existence of the Enhanced Games. If anything, we know they will only be more accentuated because they will serve as the basis for qualification and disqualification.
This is the same administration that is trying to remove trans people from sports because they say they will have “an unfair advantage.” These are some of the same people who attack, accused, and persecute record-setting athletes like Serena Williams, Imane Khelif and Caster Semenya. This is the anti-science, anti-human, anti-empathy administration we are talking about.
Here is a quote from their president:
They state that they will be “the safest sporting event in the world” by developing a “full-system medical pre-competition screening protocol” to protect the athletes. They also mention that “drug testing is not about safety,” but it is certain they are not including Black women, disabled people, and the trans community in their idea of safety.
This is the administration pushing for the literal general inspection of girls in school. Whose safety, exactly?
Additionally, these are the people who are so anti-science that they don’t believe in climate change or vaccines, yet they are more than happy to use their version of “science” when they believe that it will advance themselves.
This same wealthy elite who are all about destroying unions and working class are here all of a sudden talking about how athletes will be fairly paid.
The Olympics are already problematic in the shape and form they’re in, posing as a form of politicized war games. The Olympics developments notoriously exploit neighborhoods, workers, residents and athletes. When we examine the Enhanced Games, because of the context of who is funding and behind them, it essentially results in a eugenics experiment.
“The race for superhumanity is on,” is a tagline for eugenics in the hands of Empire.
