Down with Empire Elections, and…

Historically, we have been taught not to talk about it for all of the reasons including the fallout that might come from it or even what might happen in friend a professional circles. Just as we are witnessing with people who are speaking up about a free Palestine.

So what I want to propose, is we challenge that silence and isolation. That we talk about it. Let’s have a conversation about who we are all going to collectively vote for come November.

I know so many people are disillusioned right now, including people that I know who have voted in every single election of their lives.

I get it. The people that we currently have on the ballot are all atrocious. And the entire election system in Empires was created for white colonizers. Not for us. I do not believe in an election and voting system under any Empire.

And ultimately, we don’t want a world where we have to choose between the lesser of two evils. Our liberated world is not about having to make that decision. A world without oppression shouldn’t be us saying, “Oh, how can we still be oppressed but a little less oppressed?” Or, “How can we be less oppressed than those people?”

We have a few months we have before the primaries and a year before the general election. Considering the fact that the election will happen, let’s pick someone else then. And then maybe this will be the last election that even works like this.

So let’s challenge all of that and talk about the vote BEFORE the actual vote. We don’t like anyone on the ballot, yes. So who DO we want on the ballot? Can we collectively make a decision on someone that we can all have on the ballot? So that we can ensure that the tool that we have, flawed as it is, will be able to leverage change. And a reminder, we’re not trying to choose the perfect person. That person doesn’t exist. We are trying to choose the person that will represent the change that the People want. We need transparency. We need to talk about all of this.

And witness what happens when we DO talk about it. For example, more people are talking about Palestine, the DRC, Sudan, Cuba, Tigray, etc. People are becoming informed, other people learn, and others say, “Oh wow, I had it wrong, but I am open and learning now.” Let’s talk about it.

Remember voting is just a tool that we have now within the system that we are in. And yes, the future will not have the same system when all the Empires fall. So as we take down those systems let’s do what they don’t want us to do. Talk about it with each other.

Let’s pick the person that we want even before Election Day. So that when Election Day does come, the People are already ready.

So y’all, who do we want on our ballot? And how can we get them there?
Let’s have a conversation and make that decision before that decision gets made for us.
