Cutting DEI is Condoning Oppression

With zero exaggeration, any company or organization that cancels or gets rid of its DEl programming is oppressive and racist. They do not care about you.

(Of course, I am not talking about organizations that have fully integrated anti-oppressive measures into the very fabric of their organizations.)

It does not matter what reason they give whether it is reallocation, lack of staff, or budget, it is for oppression.

In an oppressive world, not having anti-oppressive measures in place is actively condoning oppression. That entity is an Oppression Organization, nothing less.

There is no maybe here. Let us not make what is happening more palatable. Let us not mince words. We must be very real in witnessing and naming what is taking place. Many organizations and parties in power are bolstering oppression.

Do not be afraid to name this.

That company or organization is stating that they do not value diversity, equity, and inclusion enough to keep this programming.

They are saying with their money, time, and resources that they are fine with white cis het ableist patriarchal colonial culture flourishing at their organization.

Do not support organizations that have expunged their DEI efforts. They’re telling you exactly who they are.
