BIPOC Culture Theft

The fact that white people can consume BIPOC culture, whether it’s film, movies, literature, food, music, and still hate People of Color, shows you how oppression is linked to dehumanization.

One of the original arguments to uphold white supremacy and colonization was to dehumanize Black and Indigenous folks. And one of those tactics was trying to separate people from their culture. And we’re still seeing that today.

When you consume BIPOC culture as a white person, which is all the time, remember that it was and continues to be at great cost to BIPOC life, land, and people.

Separating the culture from its people is violent theft and part of the long tradition of white supremacy and imperialism.

Take the time to learn about cultures before you consume and participate in the cycle of dehumanizing BIPOC.
