Digital Security: Airdrop Off

Friends, if you follow me, this should never ever happen to you. And yes, of course it was a man.

Your airdrop settings should not be open to everyone. That’s like leaving your door open and anyone can wander in.

Change your iOS settings immediately.
Go to Settings > General > Airdrop, and either set it to Contacts Only or Receiving Off altogether. Android is Settings > Google Devices & Sharing > Nearby share off.

If it’s set to everyone, anyone can Airdrop something to you whether it’s a nude, or even worse, malware. Also, if it’s set to everyone, anyone can see if your iPhone is in the vicinity. So if your iPhone is called Zendaya’s iPhone people will know that your iPhone is around them, and that’s kind of going into your business.

And often we accept files without thinking about it. So, mind your settings, watch that door. Keep your information safe. We want those good practices to take down capitalism and white dominance.
