In connection with Day 355 and Day 330, where I talk about more kinky matters, today I found rope I kept for multifarious purposes, but because of its silkiness, I preferred using it for bondage. I have, because of my experimentation and fearlessness of things that are taboo, a vast knowledge of bondage techniques.
Bondage, when practiced right, can be like meditation. The knots are complex, and you have to be mindful of the comfort of your partner. One of my favorite bondage knots involves creating a handcuff-like knot that you can then pull on, tie to a post, yet simultaneously does not cut off circulation in your partner’s wrists, and also gives them a handle to hold onto. I’ve tied the knot with the said rope in the image to the right.
If you learn to tie knots intricately, you can even make stunning designes that act not only as restraints, but also as very beautiful art. When I used to teach workshops on kink, sexual liberation and the erotic for folks of color, I aimed to show people how what we are taught is taboo is actually not, and can in fact be made accessible for all. I would have the participants practice different knots in the workshops and therefore have an abundance of this rope.
Today on Day 357 of my 365 Release, I am giving away most of the rope, which I kept for the same reason as the belt from Day 355; it sat forgotten at the bottom of my box of goodies.
For those who have been asking how they can continue to be a part of my journey even after this project, you can subscribe to my monthly email newsletter here, where I share life lessons, contemplations of awesomeness and updates on projects such as this 365 Release and much more.
[I created the 365 Release Project to practice non-attachment, letting go and change by giving away 1 thing a day for 1 year. The background, vision and guidelines to the 365 RELEASE project are here. The running list of everything I have released is here.]
